How to Change or Reset Your PIN Using the AVR
If you are a provider who uses the Automated Voice Response (AVR) System, you are required to change your PIN:
- Every time your PIN expires.
- When you are using a one-time-use PIN.
- When you have chosen to change it.
Your PIN
- Must be a 6-digit number and no more than 15 digits in length.
- Cannot be a six consecutive equal number (like 333333).
- Must be different from the last 5 PINs used.
Both organization-based users and the Organization Administrator can request a new PIN or change a PIN through the AVR. If a new PIN is requested, a one-time PIN is mailed to the provider. If the change PIN option is selected, this changes the PIN until it is required to be changed again.
It is important that you follow the policies established by your organization for changing the AVR PIN. Normally, this is done by the provider’s Organization Administrator.
The AVR PIN can be changed using the AVR if you know your current password. If you have forgotten the password or the account is locked and you need the PIN reset immediately, the Organization Administrator can reset the PIN using the New Hampshire MMIS Health Enterprise Portal. Contacting the Organization Administrator is the recommended approach because it is quicker. If the Organization Administrator is not available, you can request a new PIN using the AVR and one will be mailed the provider.
Note: If you are a trading partner, you do not need a PIN because the AVR system is unavailable to you.
